Needed badly- HICKS engine to complete project.
The volunteers at the Pillar Point Educational Fund have recently rebuilt the 1928 , 34ft Monterey fishing boat IRENE. We hope to use it as a harbor tour boat with the net proceeds going to a scholarship fund for the fishermen's families. IRENE is now back in the water at its home for the last 80 yrs, the Pillar Point (Half Moon Bay)harbor. PLEASE HELP.

Sure would like to see photos of the boat. Sorry, can't help you with the engine. Maybe some of the other engine collectors can help.

Was recently in SF during a stop over at the airport and walked along the waterfront near the Maritime Museum - no time to go in ironically! Anyway, I happened to ask a likely looking fellow if any of the boats tied up along the boardwalk on Jefferson St. had a Hicks Engine. He said that one of the tour operators there had a Hicks in his boat but had recently "deep-sixed it". I can't recall the name now, but have it on video.

I was a hard change. I have relied on Hicks for the last 27 years. Probably the last to still earn a living. I got old. Hicks needed work. Still liked touring. so new yanmar diesel. Did not deep six anything. It is available with many many spare parts. www.dixiecharters.blogspot.com
