JB hosted another club gathering at his shop in Donaldsonville yesterday. The morning started out with coffee, beignets, and socializing. It didn't take long til everyone was playing with engines, tools, and machinery. The oscilating engine was running smoother and slower than on the video. A 15 HP Mianus was donated to the club and it was brought back to life as well.
My original plans were to make some spare Lockwood/Nadler ignition points. My birthday present was delivered Friday afternoon, a 2 1/2 HP Motorgo complete with LH Lunkenheimer mixer. A quick inspection revealed play in the main bearings. I tore the engine down, cleaned all the parts and packed them in my truck for yesterdays gathering. With some guidance and help from the crew, we managed to pour, ream, and lap the main bearings. The crank was polished, new gaskets made, and engine reassembled. Twenty Seven hours after delivery from Wisconsin, this little Motorgo is ready for another 100 years of fun.
I am bad about not taking pictures of things I am working on. There were a few cameras running around, hopefully someone will post a few Pics.
A good time was had by all. I had the biggest grin by the days end, even though I forgot to make some points.

Jim,
Glad you found a nice motorgo. If any of you guys down there are going to make any castings for the various LA, Motorgos, and Nadlers, please let me know. I have a few that still need parts. |

Bill, we have patterns for timers, upper timer brackets, 4-8hp water pumps, water pump straps, and eccentric couplings. I have some of the parts in stock, have to send pattens back to the foundry for the rest. Piston patterns are at the foundry now for 2 1/2-6, & 4-8hp alluminum pistons. We'll machine the samples before placing orders, let me know what you need. |

JB,
almost seems like a crime to undo the previous owners work.
Do you have any of the timer covers? I am going to have to find the box with the last bunch of castings from you, I think it was all timer parts. I know I need at least 4 water pump straps, 4 eccentrics, 1 4hp water pump as a minimum. I might have to check, I could always be missing a piston, too. I also need an 8 and a 4 hp flywheel. |

Bill,
To go along with the castings listed above, most of the machinist drawings are available as well. Micarta is typically used for the insulated timer ring and ignition points cam.
