Hi there.

My name is Sim Salata (Ms.) and I am the curator at the Penetanguishene Centennial Museum in Penetanguishene, Ontario. I have an Adams engine from about 1907 donated a few years ago and am trying to find out more about it. It is a single cylinder engine which was used in Gidley Boats, but other than that, I know nothing about it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Sincerely,

Sim Salata, Curator

Sim Salata,

I have one index that mentions the Adams Launch & Engine Co. of Penetanuuishene, ONt. It doesn't say much other than indicate that the range of engine sizes was 2-10HP and that there was apparently some advertising in 1908.

Here is a picture of what I think is an Adams engine that someone sent me some time ago... I don't remember the details.

Hopefully someone else supply you with some more complete information on the company.

Regards,
Andrew
