Anybody have any info for a Driggs-Seabury 4 cylinder, flat head motor? I think this was originally in a Twombley cycle car, as I have found pictures of such. These ranged from 1913-1915 approx. About 10-15 horsepower. It was setup to go in a boat at one time and I hope to do the same after I finish restoring the motor. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jon. |

Driggs-Seabury was an ordnance Company in pennsylvania that mfgrd full line of ordnance and machine guns, they made the 4 cyl flat head eng for Twombly cars but I have not seen any info that they made a marine application. It was common practice that many car engines were converted by their owners for marine use.
Driggs Ordnance, with a New York- Broadway sales address in 1913 did build and market a rotary valve marine engine the trade name was "Driggs Silent Valve" this mfgr was still listed in 1917 in that years marine buyers list !

Thank you! Any info helps. I've seen lots of the ordnance info, but nothing on the motors. Would you have any idea of how to find any more? Manuals, books, how many made.....? Also this was a boat owners homemade set-up, but I don't know in what type of boat. Jon. |

I just bought a 1914 Twombly but I am having problems get spark plugs. The ones that were in my motor had an adapter for the fine threads and I want to try and put original curse threads. Having problems with the parts stores finding something that would work, all fine thread and cannot find the right size. Does anyone what spark plugs goes into these motors. Thanks |
