Are you looking for the shims that look like sheet metal or the wedges with a slot?

If you are in the US Kevin, then McMaster-Carr has them in stock. See

The old timers made them from hardwood. I remember my Dad making them out of Oak.
Hope this helps

Yesterday
I found the wedges with slots
I tried making them from wana but I was not happy
they probably would have worked but I did not want to get in deep with the engine install and have to stop and make another wedge with a slot
These are made of metal
Thanks
