Ray Bolling the man at Palmer Bros. who ran the tests on these engines said it was a total failure the engines coked up so fast the were totally useless after 5 or 6 hours in their test boat hull. Fortunately they had a gasoline V-8 along side the fuel oil burner which got them back to the dock. One of their disappointing failures. I was surprised they advertized it so enthusiastically before extensive tests.

I didn't realize Palmer had that many different engines, they had quite an investment in patterns and engineering.
