I bought her last year, knowing the tilt hadn't worked in years, someone had tried to bodge in an alt from a car, that never was finnished due to trying to put a belt on the back-up pullcord groove. the wireing harness over the engine ends wrapped in tape on the top of the motor, yet with a full charge in the batt, i could run a couple of hours in daylight. Only to check-out the motor, which ran perrrfectly, the second time in I started to blow main fuses all the time, why? really what I was hoping to find is someone who might send me a copy of the electrical system on this motor if not boat, I already have the seloc OMC 1964-86 Sterndrive manual and use it all the time, but my V-4 isnt there bieng a 1962. The model # is DU 10 s,serial#0003276.
Hoping to hear from someone real soon
Alfalfa

Thanks for that, yet after ordering the book, I'm still in drydock and would like to be dockside far sooner than the mail will let me, so if any-one might know this boat,as described above and might know a simple remedy, i'de love to hear from u!

Alan,
That engine is newer than the engines that are normally dealt with on this board. I suggest that you post the question in the MarineEngine.com Board. You can copy and paste what you entered above. There are a number of OMC experts that answer questions on that board.
