Hi, sorry if this is not relevent to this site but I am after help on the subject. I have a Daf 575 on my barge and I am thinking of running a fresh air supply to theengine. At the moment the engine is housed in a wooden engine box and drawing its air supply from the original filter mounted on the turbo. This obviously does not give a good air supply. I am thinking of mounting an air box from, say a diesel car/van/lorry, with the air being drawn from somewhere outside the engine box. Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter, positve or negative and any idea as to what vehicle I could use as a donor. Many thanks in advance

I don't think that your engine box is so air tight that it starves the engine of fresh air. If it was that air tight, I don't think the engine would even start, much less run.
Just make sure the air filter is cleaned or replaced once in a while

Hi,

I am new to this forum and hoping that someone can help! I'm looking for a spin on cartridge type oil filter housing for a Daf dd575.

I have the old type filter and it really is a pain!

Thanks in advance for any help.

KC
