Hi, I am Situated in South Africa, I would like to know if anyone would be interested in buying this engine ?. My dad was building a Hartley Flarline 20 foot Plywood Cabin Cruiser and this engine is installed in this boat, unfortunately he passed away and his unfinished project is standing. The engine still runs good. The Manual is still in 99% condition. It describes the engine as this :
COVENTRY DIESEL TYPE K.F TWO-STROKE CYCLE OIL ENGINE (INCORPORATING THE KADENACY PATENTED SYSTEM UNDER LICENCE FROM SIR W.G ARMSTRONG WHITWORTH & CO (ENGINEERS) LTD), WITH SELF-CHANGING CO.'S MR.8 MARINE GEARBOX AS INSTALLED IN ADMIRALITY 16FT FAST MOTOR BOATS. ETC...

The Manual has all the engine data, component parts data, general description, maintenance, running instructions etc included in the book the layout of the system in the 16 ft motor boat, engine and part details settings and diagrams and sketches off all parts taken apart(Sectioned drawings) etc..The Manual date is August 1945.

Anyone ???

Hi Eckie and Eric.
Sorry about my typing error it is a KF engine
I will scan the manuals I have one for the Mk 1 type engine and the other is for the Mk 2 the Mk 1 engine has a gear type water pump and the Mk2 has rubber rollers I have two new valves and I should have a full set of used valves.
It will take me a few days to scan the manual as I am new at this game
The part no for the valves are KF3203

Has anyone got a picture or diagram of the 1955 16ft fast Navy launch with the coventry climax KF engine (IN THE STERN) We have nearly finished all the renervation but we are sure it had a cabin/weelhouse on it. I have seen a drawing in the KF manual of a small wheelhouse but the drawing showes the engine midships which will be different as our engine is in the stern and operates through a transfere box so the prop is directly beneath the engine..
Also a technical question.. Some of the wireing has been stripped out but there is a Lucus Current Voltage Regulator (R 8 340) with the contacts labeled E D WL F B Where do they all connect to?? also the chain driven Dinamo has three wires from it (Black Red and Green) where do they go ???.
I am also after a 15" square drive Rev counter cable to fit the Coventry Climax KF, I have the clock part, I think it was made by Smith's. Hope someone out there can help, Please..
Oh, If you are interested in saving money on fuel just check out my web site:- www.vehiclefuelsaver.info
Cheers from Eric

Hello Roger. . thanks for the reply, but I will leave it for now,as I have just bought the equivalent in petrol engines, complete and running. The FMDs had a choice of petrol or diesel. I bought a GrayMarine Express 4-140 here in France which will do the job nicely. . . .I think.
cheers. . . .Erik

Hello Roger, please contact me about the two dismantled KF engines, I would like to know if it's possible to assemble a complete engine out of the parts.
P.S. I think there more than one "Erik" in this posting, a bit confusing now and then......

I have the greatest pleasure to anounce that the two year restoration of our 16ft Admiralty launch called SINBAD with the Coventry Climax 4 cylinder 2 stroke supercharged diesel engine is complete. This original KF engine now runs like clockwork and the boat, well, just see for yourself. If you want it then make me an offer over £15,000.. Contact me for the pictures..

Hi, I have one engine in the boat. It reads Coventry Diesel, 4 cylinder and 60 HP. I do not know what engine is exactly. Engine is old but works perfectly. I'd like to know what engine exactly I have,(type and perfomances). And whether there might be parts of it to find and buy. The only problem is the high consumption of machine oil.

Here is some photos of engine:

http://oi60.tinypic.com/11954ig.jpg http://oi57.tinypic.com/w813qt.jpg

Your help will be valuable, thank you very much and greetings from Croatia.

p.s. If somebody is interesting to buy, here is my email.

A friend of mine has for sale a Coventry KF two stroke diesel engine complete with gearbox. It was last run around 10 years ago. I think it's complete but I'm unable to confirm the condition of the engine so it will be sold for 'Spares or repair' There is also a spare Roots Blower with it. If anyone is interested, please provide contact details so that I can pass them onto my friend. The engine is lying in Cheshire, UK.
