I am rebuilding a Volvo MD5A and am ready to run it on the bench. Can I connect temp and oil pressure gauges to the original sender units? They are currently only wired to alarm lights. Thanks in advance.

This may be late but it might help others. The oil switch must be replaced by a 34074 0-500kpa vdo gage and a 34082 sender-1/8 nptf thread. The temp sender is cheap 34108 and a 34090 is the right range for the gage both are euro ohmn units. these are cockpit units and are cheaper than the outside versions. both work well on my volvo.
