I just became the new owner of a 1980 23 ft vashon pocket trowler with 66 hrs. total time. It has a sabb 2gz 22 hp. engine and a sabb reverseible prop. The engine started and ran.
The fuel filter has no numbers on it and the paint has peeled off the oil filter the partshouse books noes not show this boat or motor, I would greatly appreciate any help that I can get get. the filter numbers the sabb gives does not show in the fram crosover book.

Sabb Fuel filter:
You are better off using an old fashion glass bowl fuel screen for 100 micron followed by a Parker Hannifin ( or whatever) 10 micron filter assembly you find in any marine shop.- Both of them allow you to see what crud was pumped into your tank. ( Down stream of this I have the standard Sabb fuel filter that I have not changed in 8 years- probably filters at no finer than 50 microns)
