great engine...starts right up..oil pressure good..but in hot weather with sea water in the 70's under load seems to run hot...160-180...temp usually fluctuates...sea-water cooled engine..thermostat and impeller are one year old...

Hello. Happy to contact you again, valuing all your efforts and advice which you give-out so freely and kindly. I am sending some photos of the speed control which was stolen from my boat in order to help with my enquiry.
The engine control unit serves a HRW3 2G Lister diesel 55 HP made in 1970-75 (serial No : 27IHRW3AM22) . The official manual, shows the engine control lever mounted on the engine, whereas I had it remotely placed (as seen on the other photos I enclose) and operated by cables, not rods.
I am hoping for some advice as to where I can find one (I know that they are hard to find !!) OR an alternative/equivalent control unit, that will serve this engine.
Thanking you in anticipation,
Yours,

Basil Tselentis

Hi Basil, I know this idea is not the same but you should be able to use a Morse control unit and cables in place of the one taken, I can only assume it was stolen to sell on so maybe keep an eye out for it for sale somewhere.

Dear Keith,
Thank you very much!
I will be on the look-out ! but it feels strange to buy-off something from yourself!!
Take care,
Yours
Basil

Hi Basil, if you do find it for sale contact the Police before it sells or buy it and contact them, other wise it looks like you will be forced to use a Morse unit and cable, I assume you are using the control just for thr throttle and not the gears, if that is the case you will need to look for a single unit rather than a twin control, you could also use a Teleflex control if you see one, they use the same cables, the cables are available in various langths please note you do not want to have any tight bends with the instilation.
