if you are referring to the higher pitch sound, my guess is that the compression release mechanism is not turned all the way counter clockwise after the engine is started. - I have heard the same sound.
( thanks for the Youtube site- spent 30 minutes looking at Sabb engines)

I'm coming in here late.taken a while to be able to join.
My 2H was making this sort of hissing sound as well as at revs as low as your video smoke back firing through the intake.
Im still working on my engine but have found a cracked cylinder head allowed water into the chamber and so the valves are rusty and not sealing properly. Mine is 1977 and has been seawater cooled so its a rust problem that we belive led to thiniing of the iron. the crack ran through the inlet port as well.

I have a G-10 with a leaking head. To remove the head, I disconnect the injector line and return line, remove heat exchanger and 4 head nuts. Anything else? Thank you.

HI I have a SAB 8hp model HG with a jammed clutch I am stuck in reverse which makes for interesting fishing trips! I have taken the gearbox cover off and the cones appear to be free to move. I've also cleaned and oiled the indent spring retainer and all inside which were a bit rusty. No change. I cannot see why it refuses to disengage. Anyone any suggestions?
