Hi My name is Fred Attwood and I work as a part time volunteer in the Historic Boat Section at Portsmouth Naval Base Proerty Trust. The Trust which is a charity has recently been donated a large amount of Foden Deisel Spares covering all aspects of the T6/T4 range of deisels. These were used in many of the RN ship's boats pinnaces and launches and also the Dockyard Harbour Launches.we use this range of engine and some of these spares will be peployed by us however there are many more than we can use. We have a three month window in which to unpack, identify and locate the spares which cover such things as T4 Engine blocks, cylinder liners, pistons, flywheels, piston rings, gaskets, air blowers, fuel pumps, oil pumps, fuel pipes oil pipes, covers, brackets, castings and test equipment and assembly aids and gauges fixture and fittings, gears, shafts, studs, nuts, bolts and washers. In addition to the spare units we also have the servicing spares to support them. The majority of these items will be available for disposal as there are far more than we could use or store reasonably. Shortly I will have spreadsheet available with all Nato stock Numbers and where possible FD Numbers and linked photographs which may be possible to send out on a CD Rom. This is an initial enquiry only and only one of several that will be persued but if you have an interest I will be able to link you with the Board Officials for further progress. I believe that preference may be given to other historic groups or charities but all enquiries will be considered.

Hello Fred,
My name is Brian Horton. I am currently helping to restore the ex-HMS EGERIA Inshore Survey Craft. I would appreciate a list of your foden spares, am very interested in Exhaust Gaskets and other 'bits & bobs.

The ship is lying in the Fareham area so not far from the Base.

I look forward to hearing from you.

My Home Tel No. 01233 812463.

Regards,

Brian Horton
