We are going to be moving the site to a new server and upgrading this discussion board to a newer version.

All the post, registration info, etc will remain intact. There may be a period of up to 48 hours where you will not be able to add new messages. We hope to start the move Friday evening 7/2/2004. The new site will become available at different times in different locations, but should be complete by the end of the weekend.

The discussion board will have a slightly different look, but the function will be the same. There will be some new and improved features include easier photo posting. I am using the new version already on the MarineEngine.com site and it seems to work well, although they don't post as many pictures as we do here... but that board has considerably more traffic.

If you want to see what it will look like you can see the MarineEngine.com discussion board at this link.

There may be some settings and configuration to be done once the new board is installed. I would be interested in any feedback you have.

One of the things I would like to do after it is installed and the dust has settled is to create subcategories for the most popular engine manufactures so that post about a particular engine mfg are easier to browse.

Regards,
Andrew

We are still working on it (Saturday noon), and may make the move to the new server without upgrading the board to the new version at this time.

Either way, the board posting will continue to be disabled for most of the weekend.

Thanks.

Have a happy holiday (4th of July, US Independance Day to those of you across to pond)

The board is now moved and upgraded... Sunday July 4th.

There are a number of new features. I hope you will find it to be an improvement.

If you find bugs or things that don't work, please let me know. If your profile says "new member"... yet you have been posting to this board for a while, please let me know and I will change it. It is supposed to automatically upgrade as users pass certain posting threasholds, but not all users are registered so it wouldn't count all posts... I am not trying to leave anyone out... please bear with me through this process.

Also... anyone can include a small logo in there profile as shown to the left in this post. You can make it anything you like... your favorite engine mfg or whatever. I added one to Richard Durgee's profile and to Dick Day's.

Go to your profile and upload an image, it must be less than 150 x 75 pixels...
