I installed a new feature on the board that will allow users to "reply by email" to the board generated notification emails.

If you are a registered user and you recieve email notification of new postings (selected from the profile link at the top of the page) you will have the option of reply to that posting by "replying" and then adding your comments to the text of the email as indicated in the email. You will have to add you text in the location as instructed in the email.

You will not be able to "start a new thread" or post pictures or attachments by this method. If you don't want to use it you can just ignore it and continue posting as usual.

I occasionally get people trying to reply to the email notifications thinking that it might get posted... so now it will... if they follow the directions.

I think it might be convenient for short replies.

Let me know if you have any trouble.

Regards,
Andrew

Hmm... it didn't work

Looks like I am going to have to look into the configuration settings a bit more... it will be on hold for the moment.

I will post info here when I get it working.

Regards,
Andrew

Seems to be working now. I will keep an eye on it for the next few days. Let me know I you have questions.

Seems that Roger "Solarrog" got it to work.

A message sent by "reply by email" may take up to 5 minutes to get posted

(Roger's may have taken longer because the automated process wasn't set up yet, actually still isn't but should be by the end of the evening)

Thanks, Regards,

Okay, now the feature is fully working and replies sent to the board will go up on the board within 5 minutes of being sent.

If anyone has any feedback about it feel free to post it here. It is not intended to replace the normal method of posting, but maybe make it somewhat easier to post a short response when that is all that is required.

I have turned off the "reply by email" feature. Very few people used it, and sometimes it didn't work!

Just thought I would let everyone know...

Thanks.
Andrew
