I have 2 M-392 engines that I'm rebuilding for a 42'boat. Where do I find parts and what is the value of these engines once complete. I also have the owners manual for these engines if anyone interested. Thanks

I'm also trying to find a fresh water cooling pump gear set for my Palmer/International M-392. Let me know if you find a parts source. If you repower I may be interested in your old engines for spare parts. What kind of reverse gear do you have?

Do the pumps from the IHC 345 fit the 392? I have two pumps that are dual ported for the 392 V-8.

Rich,
The correct pumps are Jabsco 8500 and 8510F for the 392 engine. They are gear drives. Please email me at [email protected] or call at 203.494.4190 if you will part with them.

This msg is for Larry Owens.
Larry I'd be very interested in getting a copy of the owners manuals for the International Palmer 392 engines. I'd also like to know if you have found a parts source for them. Please reply to: [email protected]

I've bought a Post boat with 2 Palmer International M-392 engines and Zenith carburetors.I'm planning to repower the boat because I cannot find the exhaust manifolds for a reasonable price.
The engines have the original green paint in good shape and one is free turning by hand and the other seems locked.Candidates?Call me at 404-3483217

Anyone know if Palmer M345 manifolds will fit the M-392? I have four 345 manifolds that while used they were fresh water cooled and appear to be in excellent condition.

I also would like to get a copy of your manual and any parts sources you may know of. I pulled the oil pans and cannot find a matching gasket at IH or thru local Scout mechanics here in Portland oregon. I may have to stamp them out myself [email protected]

Thank you in advance,

Robert,

You could also advertise it in the classifieds.

Are the manifolds good? You should probably mention it in the ad.

What should i watch for on a pair of 'in the hull' palmer/international gas engines? These are in a 1955 Chris Craft Commander used in salt water. Thanks, Dave in Alaska

Are they fresh water cooled not only the block but the exhaust manifolds? If not they are living on borrowed time.

TO RICHARDDAY - Some of the 345s will fit the 392 but there is a reduction.

I have a set of "V-drives" from a drive chain that was powered by a V392. both in good shape. I'm using the engines in a straight line drive and will sell the V-drives. They're currently located in StPete FL but I can easily bring them north a ways (S. GA) [email protected]

Thanks but I really have no need for them. I expect someone may have but I prefer not to be involved. My interests are in the very early years of Palmer Bros. I seem to have all the parts nobody needs these days but every once in a while I find a part someone needs.

I believe Palmer was in Cos Cob Conn. I had a pair of 392's in my Egg Harbor. There were a comple of shops in the Freeport area that stocked Palmer parts. The end plates for the exhaust manifolds were always problematic. Marine Manifold in Long Island supplied the original risers on my Egg. They were beautifully made-all copper.

Brownie Brown: I have 2 sets of exhaust manifolds and risers in excellent condition. I also have 2 sets of heads and 2 intake manifold. All items are in excellent condition. No saltwater or freshwater ran through them only antifreeze. Very low hours. Repowered boat with twin disels sold short blocks already, but still have oil pans and tin. Please contact me if you are interested.
