I have a doman 5 h.p.made by universal products co. oshkosh wisconsin,It is identical to this one except the sparkplug is on top the head.it even has the same carb ??????? did gray sell these to universal?????

Bill, I have a photocopy brochure on the Universal Motors (Oshkosh WI) 5hp which looks identical. I will send with the other information we refered to off-site.

Gents,
Compare the pics of the Gray and the Universal engines. The ones I have seen are identical except they are mirror images. So use a Gray for one side and a Universal for the other just like you can do with new large Detroits for twin screw applications.

This had me wondering here,the doman i have is a carbon copy of this gray-o.I was digging through my desk tonight (cleaning it) and found a pic of
a gray OX-1 that was taken at the shelton show this summer.The plaque reads"This engine designed by Doman div. of Universal Products co. later build by U.S Moters as model ox-1 grey.Both relabled and build this engine OX-1 .This engine was also sold by sears as the "Motorgo".It uses a model "T" piston and rod.ignition is by timer buzz-coil and battery.The propeller thrust is taken up by an external ball thrust". this one is a mirror of mine bob.......
