Alan, the bell housing/tranny cover data plate is all you get. The S/N puts the engine production in 1945 or 1944. 1944 S/N begin with C-62000. Your C66642 is 4642 units along in production. War years- hard to say if it's a '44 or '45. '46-'49 production S/N begin with the letter prefix "D".

The 1950 versions : Four-162 Lugger and Express ran 16x10 and 13x10 props respectively. The 162CI Four 75 (75 HP) ran a 10x10 prop. The smaller prop on the Four 75 (75 HP)let it turn up to 3600 as compared to 1800 for the Lugger rated 42 HP . THe Express would turn 3000 rpm and develop 63HP. All depended on whether you wanted push power or GIT!!

Thank you everyone for the input on this, as it has the Paragon gear reduction on the end of the bell housing I'm going to assume that it is the Lugger and run accordingly. Better safe than a rod through the block. Thanks Al
