Anyone know how to interpret the specs on these pages? What plate number refers to and if the numbers pre-hyphen are consistent year over year and post-hyphen are those that change? I compared the number stamped on my crank w that of the one in this '42 fireball parts page and the prefix is consistent, but the suffix isn't. I can't really imagine having two different cranks year over year, but maybe? Or maybe it's to tell you the year of forging, but it's interchangeable?

Okay plate number is the same as picture number referencing an image for n the exploded view of some component of the engine. Still not sure about the suffix of a part number
