Discovered this bit of information 06-16-2011.

"The Bessemer Gas Engine Company, Grove City, Pa. has purchased the gas engine business of the Middleditch Engine Company, Detroit, Michigan, including its stock of engines, patterns, jigs and patents. In addition it has bought the patents of John Peterson and Frederick O. Peterson, covering the Universal fuel feed, which enables small engines to operate successfully on kerosene, Naptha and low grade distillates. The Bessemer gas Engine Company has felt the need for some time of a line of small engines to make its line more complete, and this purchase gives it a full range of gas engines from 2 to 350 hp."

John Peterson & Frederick O. Peterson, engine and fuel feeder patent # (926,892)- July 06, 1909.

I was aware that Bessemer had purchased the Middleditch Engine Co. in 1912 but did not know that the company had also purchased the Peterson Brothers fuel feeder patent # 926,892.

Bessemer already had a patent in which they manufactured their engines and fuel feeders under.
The first Bessemer two cycle fuel injected engines had patent # 840,178 embossed on the crankcase. Daniel M.Tuttle owned the rights to this engine and fuel feeder patent in January 01, 1907.
--------------------------------------------------

Around the 1911-12 time period Detroit Engine works and its related engine companies stopped selling the Peterson-Middleditch fuel feeder and started manufacturing and selling their engines and fuel feeders under the new Frederick Barthel patent, # 1,026,425 of May 14, 1912.
