Hello,

Does anyone have a "list" of Serial Numbers for Acadia engines so that I may determine the date of manufacture of my 8 Hp. Acadia launch engine?

Also, what is the generic form of the Serial Number scheme? Mine is a bit hard to read fully.

I think it is: ER 8132"1", the "1" is a maybe.

Regards,

John Archibald
Northfield, Minnesota

Hello All!
I have one of the last Acadia 4HP engines made that I bought in 1976. I went to Bridgewater NS with my parents and visited the factory while on vacation and, if memory serves, was told at that time that the make and break engines were being only made on special order and were soon to be phased out . This was one of 3 or 4 engines still in the basement. In addition, there were two other engines down stairs, a double 4 and a stationary engine! The serial number of my engine is 45831. I was able to pick the engine with the nicest castings and brass etc. I also have extra parts such as a conecting rod, complete ignitor, set of ignitor overhaul springs, etc, etc. I also have the complete installtion package with prop, fuel tank, stuffing box, etc. Unfortunately, I never did install the engine! It is still in brand new condition in my basement.

Best Regards,

Timothy

Try writing to Lunenburg Foundry or what ever their current title is. They told me my double 6 was 1967.

I have 45531 which is a 4hp and I think it is from the late 60s or early 70s as I am quite sure it came from the dealer that was in Jamestown,RI during that time frame.
This SN also fits into the time frame that is in Timothy's post above
I don't think anyone has come up with any Acadia SN documentation yet.

I have been wondering if there is any rhyme or reason to the Acadia numbers. I have a 5 hp that is # 55. ....... It is not nearly a 'new' engine, however I really doubt it is as early as the '55' might suggest.

I have just acquired a used acadia twin sn:45769. It seems to be fairly complete except it is missing one ignitor. The square rod from the water pump is there but all parts above it are gone. What is available out there for a replacement?
