Anyone out there have a Zenith 63M or a Stromberg SFM-2?

I made this original post 12 years ago and I'm still trying to find a carburetor for a Sea Jeep High Speed. Anyone using any other carb replacements with success?
I also need a fuel pump but I think I can get one of those from Kaiser Willy's

Thanks,
Russ

Greetings Russ,

The Zenith 63 series was used on the Chris Craft K series as well. I would bet on other engines too. They are pretty plentiful but nobody would recognize it for the Sea Jeep.

You should also measure the diameter of the opening at the manifold (throat size)and the center to center of the mounting bolts to aid in finding one.

I would suggest calling the Chris Craft parts people out there starting with Jim Staib at Fine Wood Boats: http://www.finewoodboats.com/
(815) 344-WOOD

As to the fuel pump, it may be difficult to find a Coast Guard approved "Marine" fuel pump for the 134 cubic inch Willy's engine but any parts store will have the automotive version. That engine was built from the late 30s into the late 60s and all parts are available. There were 2 versions of the fuel pump. You will want the less expensive of the 2. That being a plain fuel pump WITHOUT the additional vacuum diaphram. That was use to augment vacuum for the windshield wipers.

Cheers,

Lew
