Hi All, is the P66 later model gearbox the same as the earlier models? apart that gear selection is from the horizontal rather than the vertical. My gearbox is slow to take up properly. It works but engine over revs until it kicks in properly, anywhere from 5 to 500 metres of travel. Starting to get annoying. Any ideas? thanks paul

Hi Paul, With my motors, I have one of each style. The forward/reverse lever model which I believe is the later one as opposed to the tram handle type is the one I have in my boat. It also has a slow engagement but I put it down to not pushing the lever fully forward to fully engage the cone. I actually use it to very slow idle when maneouvering as full engagement is too fast. I have a manual if that is of any assistance. I seem to remember reading about too much or too little oil on the cone causing this, Regards, Roy

thanks Roy! I will check that my remotes select the gear properly! It selects the gear at halfway and then rest is for acceleration.
cheers paul
