I recently aquired a 20' fantail launch with a P6 installed. The engine supposely ran 15 years ago. Can anyone tell me how old the engine is? The flywheel rotates quite freely. In fact I am little worried about compression. I have cleaned the Amal 397 carburetor and the fuel pump. I want to clean the water pump. What are the pitfalls? I'd like to get the rust off the engine and repaint. The engine has two colors of paint on various parts one is more drab than the other. Which is appropriate? The ignition circuit has a black box with what appears to be some relays in it. Does anyone recognize it? Also the forward /reverse shift lever is gone. Where can I find a replacement?

Attached are some pictures of the engine including the ID plate and one of the boat (it sure doesn't look like the picture now), but it can be brought back.

Serial numbers 12A001-12A680 were manufactured between June 1969-October1975
The black box is the Siba Dynastart control box.
