I have a Stuart Turner R3M which is running fine apart from that after about a minute it cuts out. The boat has been fitted with a new fuel(anti-syphon) tank with a inline rubber bubble primer hand pump. In order to keep it running I have to pump the primer every minute or so. I find it difficult to understand why this should be necessary on a gravity feed system. Any ideas?

Robert, The valves in the primer bulb are overcoming the effects of gravity, stopping the fuel from flowing.
These primers are usually fitted downstream of a lift pump or an injection pump that won't really see the resistance of the valves in the primer.

Try by-passing the primer with a small length of pipe and see if the engine runs properly.
