I recently acquired a Stuart H2M diesel (2 stroke).

I'm very keen to make contact with others with a similar engine or can point me to parts and swap copies of brochures and manuals that I've got.

In particular I'm after the throttle control lever assembly and the brass caps that fix the shroud on top of the engine and a cap for the oil spout.

I'm having problems getting my digital photos small enough to post - will post a pic soon.

Today - fantastic progress. The engine had been out in the weather for about 3 years before I got it - a little water in the sump, air pumps mostly full of water and 5 inches of water in the flywheel housing.

I'v cleaned out both air pumps, drained and refilled sump. Drained flywheel housing chamber. Crankshaft etc all looks well oiled.

Took the gearbox and flywheel housing off to try and get more leverage than hand cranking. The flywheel moved a little and eventually - an hour of perserverence - the engine was free and then able to crank it over by the start handle. A real milestone.

Now to mount it on a transporter and repair fuel line and check other workings before a trial start - still a few months away.

Any Stuart H2M diesel owners out there???? or anyone aware of any second hand parts or engines in Australia as I have afriend who is also seeking one (reasonably priced)??

I have a Stuart-Turner H2M in storage here in Canada. It's stuck, and is missing the start handle and sprocket assembly, the side covers, and possibly some small parts. Is there an over-running or slip clutch on the start crank?
I hope to start working on the engine this Winter.

I just bougth a Stuart H2M which seems to have very few running hours, runs smoothly, just a bit of water in gearbox, which caused it to not go in reverse,
Dismantled the thing cleaned and oiled everything and now ok .
But I am looking for a manual , does anybody now one ?
I Bought the motor from the internet in holland where I live and it was probably used in a life boat.

I have acquired a Stuart H2Y diesel for my collection. The H2Y is a fixed speed for generators, but basicly the same as a H2M. I would like to get in contact with other collectors of these engines. Especially if anybody has spares from a donor engine, as spares are very dificult to find.

I have just acquired a 19ft boat with a Stuart Turner H2M number 384 in it and would like any information on it. It is a great runner and I am looking to refurbish the boat. The guy I bought it from recommended fitting heater plugs or a glow coil system as he reckoned it would be a pig to start from cold. Alistair.
