I have been asked by someone who does not have access to computers to sell his Stuart Turner marine engine for him. It is a 2 stroke 1-1/2 hp watercooled engine with a centrifugal clutch. I understand the magneto has been completely rebuilt. Although the engine has been kept in storage for 20 years it is in full working order. He also has the handbook. I have seen pictures (got to get them processed from digital card) and it looks in beautiful condition, with the paintwork etc bright and clean.
He's asked me to sell it on eBay for him, he knows roughly how much he wants to make, but I haven't a clue about a starting price for it. Is anyone there able to help me? I see from these boards you all seem to know about the engines, so I would be extremely grateful for any information you could provide me with.

Many thanks
Patsy

Patsy. It sounds like an R2 or R3 engine.I would suggest it will sell on Ebay in the UK for between 80 & 160 pounds depending on condition, maybe a bit more if exceptional.I would also suggest you include the details off the engine plate in the description & a good photo is essential.Around 60 to 75 pounds would be a good start price. Regards Robin

Hi Patsy,

I have the same engine but no manual.
Do you think it is possible to make a copy and send it to me?

I can say it is a very nice engine for a small boat !

Retired friend of mine looking for a centrifugal clutch to suit a skiff he has built. Engine is a 7hp Wisconsin at 3,600 rpm with 1" diameter shaft. Any ideas on clutches?
