Roy,

I looked in a few of the Buffalo catalogs that I have and don't see any reference to a "model no 35" engine. They seem to use "outfit" number with models such as "outfit 1" thru "outfit 28" with the higher numbers being very high horsepower such as 100HP.

Most of the Buffalo engines I have seen have solid flywheels. I have one with a spoked flywheel that I "think" is older than the solid flywheel models, but I am not sure.

How may cylinders and what approximate HP or bore and stroke is your engine?

Regards,
Andrew

figure it out ??

Will that Buffalo eventually look like those beautiful Van Blerks you restored ???

Bob Legnon bought a Buffalo on his recent trip north, It's serial number 110, has a straight spoked flywheel and the ignitor drive shaft off the back of the camshaft. Does your engine have a serial# ? The Carb on his was strange looking, don't know who made it. If he doesn't respond here I can get you in touch with him.

Bob's Buffalo was mine at one time. The carb isn't original. It should have had a 3/4 in Schebler. By the way JB I have another one of those carbs if you want to figure out how it worked. I think it is a variable venturi.

Ernie, Bob did an excellent job of restoring the Buffalo, as usual. He experimented with carbs, had trouble getting and maintaining a slow idle. A carb with an idle circuit helped, but the fuel was puddling in the manifold, a heater between the carb and manifold solved this. I had a look in the carb that came on the motor, there was an extra butterfly and a link to work it. I'll have to study it a little closer but it seems to be an attempt at a variable venturi.
