Hello All!
I am new to this thread.
My high school students and engineering students from A Milwaukee Wisconsin university are in the middle of building a "flyer" single person hydroplane boat from plans in the book "Building plans for Forty-Three small boats" published by "Motor Boating" in 1936. We are hoping to find an original "Blue Jacket Racer" to use for power, as is recommended in the plan. We have professional volunteers to rebuild or service the engine, should we get one. the boat will be auctioned off at a local wooden boat show on Lake Geneva in Wisconsin upon completion. the proceeds will fund ongoing construction of classic boats at our school. Any help finding an engine, pricing help, or even a donation, would be greatly appreciated!

I think you'll find that getting one - no matter what shape it is in - will be a real challenge.
As a Plan B - you might want to think about another brand of similar HP that might be more available - eg Graymarine, Kermath Chriscraft
Lots of those engines were manufactured. If eventually yu do find a Blue Jacket Racer - then you can replace the more common one.
But in the interim, you'll have a boat that works.
