Thanks Julian, I have seen his name mentioned quite a lot as I have read through the previous postings. Do you know whether he is able to supply new or used parts for the Blaxland STX 3.5 and/or is he still reconditioning engines?
Cheers,
Bruce.

Hi Bruce

As far as I know Aub is still reconditioning engines and supply parts but I have had some difficulty in contacting him as he has been in hospital recently. Try his work no. first 0295214717 or 0295244732 at home. Also have you tried contacting Blaxland Chapman Marine on 0265583182 in the past I have had to leave a msg but they did get back to me. If you still don't have any luck, try ordering parts through http://www.duckflatwoodenboats.com/index.php they are in South Australia but can prob get the parts sent direct from Blaxland Chapman to your address. I guessing you req. a new cylinder or is it other parts? New cylinders are around $500 but if you keep an eye out they occasionally pop up on ebay, I picked up a second hand one in good condition for $130, other second had parts can be purchased from Duck Flat or visit the local swap meets, or you can try posting a list of parts here, good luck.

Thanks Julian,

I haven't tried Blaxland Chapman Marine as yet. Years ago I used an old gentleman in Kincumber NSW for parts and reconditioning but he had health problems and is probably out of the game now. I think his name was Ray Jacobs. I'm wondering whether the proprietor of Blaxland Chapman Marine (Brett Jacobs) is his son. Thanks for your help and good luck with your twin restoration. What are you going to do with the single that you have just finished?
Cheers,
Bruce.

Hi Bruce

The single 3hp I have just restored is my first engine restoration and a present from my father. It's also a little rare as it differs from the 3.5hp and replacement cylinders are not available. I hope to install it in a home made boat eventually. The engine I'm restoring now is a single 3.5hp and that one I'll consider selling once completed but thats a little way off.

Hmmm . . . I will have to think about that and have a talk to my financial advisor (the missus). I have made contact with Brett Jacobs of Blaxland-Chapman Marine and yes, he is the son of Ray Jacobs who is still alive and well but has retired up the North Coast of NSW. Brett is able to supply parts for Blaxland Engines. Also, the contact you gave me for Akira Boatshed has also proved useful. Cheers, Bruce.

Another Blaxland Twin just posted on e-bay. Looks to be in rough condition but might be worth a bid. It is located in Sutherland NSW.
