Hi all,
Some of you may find this hard to swallow..My TX-RR 5/7 has just done over five hundred hours in seven years of mainly idling trolling for trout and salmon.Fuel mixture has all ways been mixed in 8.8 litres lots with 284 ml,s of 30-50 oil, using what ever brand is on special at the time of need.At one time even put 20 litres through her over a three day fishing comp. borrowed from the police boat as we left ours in the shed five hours away mixed with two stroke oil, guessed the extra ,,a bit more smoke and was cleaning the plugs on a five hour period..so what..still went on putting..My plugs are champion 25,s and are twenty years old and show no sign of breaking down,,are cleaned and swapped around at four hour intervals..use a Castrol water pump grease which looks like rendered down lard which was used by my dad before me,probly knocked off from the mines as its a four gallon drum..As for lubricating the dog clutch ,same oil as fuel mixture..Took maggie cap off for first time to day , points a bit of centre leaving a fine ridge on one side ,filed down and reset at 12 thou..done the plugs at same time and reset with a hack saw blade ..Pulled her over with the belt and have a good enough spark you could light a pipe with damp tobacco,,,

After read a lot of past threads I just felt I should right this for the younger ones coming through ,,Would not like to think they are being blinded by a lot of B/S and Science for running these motors....I had one in my first boat at eight years of age and have owned five of them and have a couple of different models...They are meant to blow a bit of smoke ,,smell a bit oily and cough and fart at times ..My twelve year old grand son loves his........Cheers to all that read this .....

PS...Would love to know how to post a video from my photo album ?? Leigh

Many thanks Leigh for your wonderful believable history.
The key to her loyalty is her continued use which very , very few of us can achieve these days.
