Just looked at an, "Albin Type 0-2," Swedish made engine. Stuff piled around it, hard to see. Looks like 1 or 2 cylinder; oily exterior, stored inside. Can anyone help me understand what this is? I have no background in marine engines. Some insight would be very helpful, or a tip to a website about these engines. I check email and forums about every 3 days. Direct email OK to: [email protected] Thanks, Dennis

Are you sure it is a model "O-2" ?

You should probably try to get the exact nameplate data.

Here is a site with some Albin specs and model data.

You can also use the search link at the top of our page and search "albin", but I don't think any will refer to an "O-2".

Thanks. I could not get to all of the engine; covered with a lot of stuff in this fellow's garage. I was not able to see a name or model plate. On the side of the engine, case in the block was, "Type 0-2." That is where I got that designation. Cute little thing. I have no idea what it is worth or if it is usable for anything other than marine application.

I have an Albin O2, however it stopped running.
Somehow the front cilinder doesn't work, however if I get it running it runs on the back cilinder only. Ignition works, checked visually. The sparkplug of the front cilinder seems oily and wet. What could this mean? Besides, when changing the oil there was lot's water in crankcase. I have changed the waterpump O-ring only a year ago. Does anyone know what could be the cause?
