It looks like it was a stationary engine, cast base, no water pump, and a governor on the flywheel.

Was looking through my file photos for different methods of heating carb intakes and remembered That looped intake / exhaust castng design.
This is Bruces R.M.Cornwell/Wonder engine that was at Calvert 2006

Corcal06

R.M Cornwell designed and mfgrd in Syracuse,N.Y. mostly stationary engines from as early as 1904-05, around 1907 there was a change and the engines were trade named "Wonder", at that same time 6 head bolts showed up and several new designed Marine engines. This is a photo of the older design with out head bolts, I have a 1906-07 ca date on this photo !

The base looks early - say, pre 1905. What looks like a governor may be a spark retard/advance mechanism (I can never remember whether you retard or advance the spark when starting one of these old 2 cycles). The Truscotts of the same date as this engine had just such an arrangement. The effect was to eliminate kickback when starting by automatically having the spark set in the correct position.

Bruce's engine appears to have a wider base and a boss for a water pump, the ebay engine doesn't. I think one is marine, one stationary.
