I have this intake manifold for 3 side draft one barrel carbs. It came off a Ford inline 6 cylinder. It was 60's-70's vintage. I thought it was for a 300 Ford but the bolt pattern is different. I am wanting to sell it, but I prefer to correct identify it first.

Thanks,
Donford intake

If it isn't a 300 then it is also not a 240. You might try reasearching a 223 or 221 cu in. Sorry I can't remember which it was. I think the last production year for that engine was 63 or 64
Hope this helps
Ernie

It is not a 300 Ford intake. But the intake port pattern matches Ford only engines. Did Ford offer a 200 CID marine engine with a modified head? It is too short for a 240-300 engine. I did not see the engine it was removed from, but it was an inline 6 cylinder and blue in color. That is the only description I received. Does anyone know of a site where I can find pictures of Ford Marine engines from the 60's and 70"s?

Hi Don Carns Jr,
I dont know if you have recieved an answer for this old thread, but if this manifold does not fit the 177/223 ford 2nd gen I6, you will probably find its from a 2V Australian i6 ford head.
This is the smaller (I think) 3rd gen i6 ford engine offered in 144/170/200/250ci options through its development lifespan.
Ford Australia recognised the limitations of the integral log head/single intake carb that these engines were stuck with, so they kept the blocks, but developed the heads, first generation was a 2V option - 2 barrel carb with a bolt on manifold, 2nd generation head went to a crossflow head based on the cleveland V8 type of design, then alloy, then injected, etc, etc. Ford still use these engines today with twin cam heads & turbocharged from the factory in Australia, with many many other developements to the block, moving gear & engine management, etc.
What I think you have here is an aftermarket manifold for the 2v head which would take triple weber side draft carbs.
generally speaking, swapping a log head with an aussie 2v head gained (proportedly) 50% extra horse power from an i6 engine, therefore they gained popularity very quickly, adding a triple carb manifold, would just up that output again.
The 240-300 I6 that you were asking about was (in effect) fords "big block" six, & the 4th & final Gen I6, bullet proof engine with factory geared timing (not a chain)& considerably larger than the 3rd generation car engine (because it was made for trucks & why its known as the big block even though its displacement is the same as the older generation engine), but this is where I think your are getting the sizing issues you are having when comparing the manifold you have to the 240-300 Gen4 I6.
Hope this helps...?
Now... what I would like to know is, Do you still have this item sitting around gathering dust somewhere?? All the best, Dan

Here is a pic of a stock 250 2V intake bolt patern does it match what you have?
I can't tell from the pic you have posted. is there any markings on the manifold that you have?
