This is about 5 hp. The very thick head that must have hosted the ignitor, offset brass ignitor trip rod bracket, and brass 'bypass port throttle?' all seem distinctive. Any ideas?

This was immediately recognized by an antique marine engine collector who has one. I'm embarrassed. It is a medium speed Capital, Fifield Brothers, Augusta, Maine. I was too taken with that brass doodad (see second photo down) that I had never seen before to pay much attention to the rest of the engine (remains of an engine anyway). Turns out that is a fitting for an oil cup. Such a fitting is clearly shown in a cut in the Capital catalog. So ends that mystery.
