do both those spark plugs go into the chamber, or is one just into the water jacket?

Were is the exhaust manifold?
Is it combined with the inlet manifold?
Run this one backwards, and the cooling pump is running backwards too? Ie as it appears to be a gear pump, sucking instead of blowing!

Water in appears to be on the starboard side of the pump and water out is most likely the L bow on top of the manifold.
Most early Gray engines and many others used a gear pump. You just have to run the engine in the direction it was designed to run.

I have been looking through the Grayson book and came across a "Mohawk" I know that the description does not quite fit but it was the only one i found so far with twin spark-plug ignition. Any thoughts this could be a prototype?

Richard, I see by the photo that this could not be a Mohawk. Back to searching. How many twin spark-plug engine mfg could there be? Seems very few.

Joe, I noticed you have been on the forum sense 2005 and posted 57 times. However you must not be aware that it is considered rude to hi-Jack someones thread. The subject matter on this thread is the identity of this two cylinder marine engine. When you have a different subject that you want to inquire about the proper thing to do is post a new thread with a new subject (Water Motor). When you do this it keeps everyone happy and also keeps subject matter in the proper categories for searching. If we all help educate each other then it makes for a better forum.

John Davis...thank you for putting me straight. I suppose I should know better but you make it clear that I do not. The title of the thread you speak of threw me off. It says Unknown Engines post here Help Identify. Sounds rather generic don't you think?

Joe, Hope I did not come off to strong? Because the last thing I want to do is make someone mad or upset. Yes the category is generic. I do not believe there would be a problem with posting in this category (Unknown engines) but under your own thread and subject.
