Hi All, Just came across a boat that I am looking at taking home to live :-)

I sadly only took a couple of photos of the Engine, but may go back and take a couple more one weekend, the boat is currently an hour or two away from home.

Anyway, wondered if anyone might be able to provide some insight into what this Engine is, I suspect it's a diesel but would love to have it confirmed and see photos of any similar ones.

Will also be looking for spare parts and the like in the event that she does come home and will need to rebuilt...

And this time with the attachments... I'll get the hang of this eventually...

Cheers

It's clearly got three injectors beside the rocker cover in the 2nd picture so I can confirm it's 3 cylinder diesel. But the shape of the engine in those photos rings no bells for me, however I only know a rather limited subset of engines. I would suspect Simplex is likely to be the manufacturer of the marinising kit. There appears not to be an inlet manifold, or rather this function is done inside the cylinder head. This feature is less common and will help to narrow it down some what.
I do remember seeing a (British I think) smallish tractor engine like that, BMC or Perkins perhaps?
Are you in the UK?
Cheers from NZ.

Thanks Darryl, Perkins sounds like the most likley culprit, I think the owner mentioned it but I got a little confused by the Simplex branding. Now just need to work out a model and see if I can get an old service manual or the like for it :-)
Cheers
