I hope some member can help with this. Today, I met the former operator of a company which was on the site of the Hitchcock Gas Engine Co. They've never seen a photo of a Hitchcock engine. Any ideas where I might find one? Best regards from Penobscot, Maine

Here is a paragraph on Hitchcock from American Marine Engines. I will see if I can find a cut of one.

Also, if you plug Hitchcock into search at the top of this page, it will take you to one other reference on this site about Hitchcock. Scroll to the very end of the thread.

This is the only photo of a Hitchcock marine engine I have seen it's 1913.

By the article this is the twentieth year of the engines manufacture, from late 1890's until approaching WWI a lot of technical changes took place, so to see this 1913 model engine its sort of like Chevrolet etc, they made many different models and types over this span of time, it may be necessary to show 15 different engines to show what Hitchcock engines looked like ??

Bill

Good work finding these photo ads !
Could you date them ?
I have found that dating all info helps keep
things in order when I get an assembly of items and sort them out at a later time !

Obviously two different flywheel designs ?
