Selling a 3 HP Atlantic make and break. Engine has been restored but haven`t had it running. In great shape. Cylinder has no cracks or leaks. No scoring inside cylinder walls. Water jacket filled with antifreeze. Bearings are tight. No shaft blades or coil but I can probably find them for extra cost. Located in Newfoundland, Canada. Selling for $800 Canadian.Engine

Is this engine still for sale ??
I have what I beleive to be a pre 1900 Atlantic Sea Skiff 13' 6" in length I think this motor would fit in. It may be too small but want to check it out.

Jim,
I am new to antique engins of this type as my experience hsd been with
late 30's and forties inboards so I am at your mercy and expertise.
I do know an engine too big for the skiff I have could vibrate too
much and cause problrms.
Also you mentioned other parts you have for this at additional cost.
Since I am new to this type, I am hoping to get one that is complete.
Doing work to get it to run I do not mind but tryiny to find out what
it needs to run would be problamatic.
Your thoughts

Sorry Walter, cannot give you input as to compatibility of engines with certain boats.
I can get you the complete package; engine, exhaust, shaft blades, stuffing box and coil for $1200 canadian funds.

Jim,
I am still inertested but researching engine size. Also please explain Shaft blades. If a Propeller I already have that and a stuffing box.
Exhaust of at least a few feet from engine and coil would need.
Also any ballpark $ as to shipping to Cooperstown New York ??
I receive your e-mails but when I reply they error.
Walter
Thanks Jim

Walter, that Acadia 3 HP would have been a far too big and heavy engine for a 13 ft skiff.
That engine was designed for heavy, open sea-going fisherman.
I think that you'd like to get a smaller engine, that would run at a slightly higher speed that the Acadia.
Look through the list of engines and you'll see the differences.
Better yet, visit with some of the guys at one of the marine engine shows eg Calvert or Mystic, and you'll see what I mean. Neither are all that far from your home base.

Miro,
Thank you for the information. I am hoping to be going to Mystic this year. Not familiar with Calvert so will look into that as well.
Walter
