Here's a video that I put together comparing the outputs of 3 different coils.
I didn't get the sequence quite right when I assembled the video, but you'll get the idea ( plus I'm still on the steep part of the learning curve for the video production software)

You'll also note the effect of RF interference when the JB coil is being recorded - you'll actually hear a pop on the audio when one of the big sparks makes the jump across the lamp base to the other contact.
No question that JB's layout REALLY puts out the spark - at the price of draining 2x the current which is 4x the power.
