I am probably one of the last on the OME site to find out how Caille is pronounced. I've heard it pronounced 'Kay', Kaylee, Kayl, and Kallie. This is the first time I have seen the pronunciation appear in a publication of the period (MotorBoat, August 25th, 1914). So, is 'Kall' the commonly accepted pronunciation?

When I first got into the hobby an old timer that got me started had two boats, he said one had a Nadler, the other had a "Kelly". When I saw the motor it was a Caille. Most people around here call it a "Caillee", but in their ads they have "pronounced Cail" at the bottom.

The factory literature I've seen says "pronounced Cail"

And I've met and talked with descendants of the Caille brothers. It definitely rhymes with pail, tail, fail, mail....

I once saw an ad that read "Caille rhymes with Gail"
