Hello All,

I am contacting you on behalf of a friend.

He has come by an old boat with a Chrysler Sailor 250 Outboard engine on it.

The engine has a 6 or 8 pin socket on it. He does not know how to wire to this. He believes it is an ignition wiring diagram he is looking for.

Any information you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Cathal.

Cathal,

This board is really for old "inboard" engines as opposed to "outboard motors".... but since you have posted here we can certainly try to help you... what year and what horsepower is it? I could copy the wiring diagram from the service manual.... or you could buy a service and/or parts manual at the following link.

Regards,
Andrew Menkart

Dear Mr. Menkart,

I have had him check the engine & the following are the details:

95H1G
Serial 1042
9.9HP

From the link you gave I traced this to 1981 (aT least I think that's right).

Would it be possible for you to do as you suggested ie. copy the wiring diagram for me. My friend does not know if this engine even works. If he can determine that he would gladly invest in a manual for it.

Best regards,

Cathal.

Cathal,

I checked the manual and there are 35 pages that cover the electrical system and there are separate diagrams for ignition, generating, magneto, starting, etc.... so unfortunately it isn't practical to scan it...

Regards,
Andrew

If anyone has a motor like this that does not run, I would like to buy a control handle. A small plastic part on mine broke and I cannot find parts.
