Here are pics of one with lower covers incorrectly decaled as a Johnson
Here is one without lower covers

I am fairly sure that they were available without lower covers with a lower unit like the one with covers as well.
Hope this helps
Ernie

I have a 1953 (3835) Scott-Atwater 10hp outboard.
I can not locate an operators manual. Question: On the front of this motor is a carb knob ranging from #1 to #12, what should this knob be set at to start the motor. Also the control arm band is missing. I believe the flat part of the handle should be up (starting position). I turned the jet all the way in and then out 1-1/4 turn. It will fire with starting fulid (not good for 2 cyl) so I know the electrical system is working. Any help anyone can give would be appreciated. Does anyone know where or who has an ops manual?
