Anyone got photos or info about Swartman Boats with Buffalo Engines built in Waubaushene, Ontario, Canada in the late 1800's and early 1900's? My wife's grandfather owned a 40' Swartman double ender called the Zingari which was used for hunting and fishing expeditions on Georgian Bay. It had a 6 cyl Scripps(?) engine. Looking for more info on these boats and engines.

Hello Curly
A few boats have been found in the Georgian Bay area. The boats known in the area were generally in the size from 28 to 40 feet. My friend has attempted to find info on the company but no literature has been found. An identifying mark on the boat was an arrow carved along the side of the boat on the third plank down from the top. My friend indicated that in this area small boats that would use a 2 cylinder Buffalo have not been found.
