I am a member of the Wooden Boat Museum of Newfoundland and Labrador (WBMNL) and wouls like to start a thread on the Old Marine Engine Discussion Board. I have a traditional Newfoundland "Motorboat" with a 3 HP Atlantic make and break engine and would like to correspond with members as well as WBMNL members on this topic.

The web site has issues with the hosting supplier.

Nice site, but nothing about the engines that I could find. Not that much about the boats either.

Robert,

Thank you for your comments. The Wooden Boat Museum of Newfoundland and Labrador (WBMNL) is almost ready to launch an entirely new website which will cary much more information on engines. There will be a database of engines and their owners within the website. When the site is launched I will make an announcement on the Old Marine Engines Discussion Board with the link of the new URL. This summer the WBMNL will be organizing the Make 'N Break / Boats In The Harbour project. There will be many traditional boat events throughout the Province and busy dialogue about the boats and their engines between the owners as well as interested parties. We can expect our thread on the Old Marine Engine Discussion Board to be busy then.

Kevin

Kevin,

Sounds like a plan. Some concept that would generate local interest and story/information gathering, preservation & restoration etc. would be good idea maybe? Maybe some regional "chapters"?

We'll try to keep the thread busy! ;-)
