John Smietana, a regular visitor to Mystic and Calvert shows, died Sunday after a year of declining health.

John will be missed. He was a great supporter of the hobby and a friend to all.

I got to know John through our common interest in old marine engines and found him to be a good, generous friend and a really interesting character. I'll miss him for sure.

Some sites have a "in memoriam" section; could we also? A short personal and "collecting biography"? It's a nice way to keep the memories alive and let other people know who perhaps miss the passing mentions in threads like this. What do you think Andrew?
