A few more uses for Woods Metal (Cerroloy, Cerrosafe). I had a flywheel which needed a new key way cut in it and I needed to hide the old keyway so I put a plug in the bore and pored in some Cerroloy. Another use is to pound out dents in copper jackets. The stuff melts at about 70 degrees f and can be poured into almost anything. See the pictures below. It can also be poured into copper or brass tubing prior to bending to keep the tube from collapsing or kinking. Getting the dents out of the radius on the copper jackets is hard to do so this gives you a way to buck up and remove the dents, not perfect but better than nothing by far. Woods metal has zero expansion or shrink so it mirrors the surface its on perfectly.
