I saw this engine at JB's shop this past weekend at his annual camp and tour event. Not only this engine but lots of other really interesting stuff including boats and good people were to be seen and experienced. That's pretty neat. I wonder what type of compression ratio that has with the piston stopping so low in the cylinder (or is the crank simply not being rotated through a complete turn in the video). |

Thanks for the video Miro, glad y'all had a good time. The cylinder head has a step that protrudes into the cylinder, increasing compression. |

Hi out there. Guess I am new to the discussion forum but here goes. About 60 years ago my father had small boat on Loch Lomond, Scotland. It had a two cylinder Kelvin, Sleeve Valve engine that started on petrol (gas) and , once warmed up, you changed over to paraffin with a cock on the carb. Ran for ever! Anyone know if these engines are still running? |

This is the only sleeve valve engine I've dealt with, I remember seeing a generator at a show that had a sleeve valve, I believe it was built by Knight. |
