Anyone in need of a water pump strap for a Detroit marine engine I might be able to help you. Cattail Foundry cast 7 of them for me and I have a few extra's. Email me if interested. Think these will fit Detroit or Sandow marine engines 2 to 3 hp. Thank you Emanuel & company for doing such a great job on casting the pump strap's.

Good looking castings as usual for what I have seen from Cattail, and good of you to make extras for others who might need one. Very nice machining too. Would you tell me what you sent to Cattail - a pattern you made or an original connecting rod? Thanks, Dick Briggs |

Hi Dick, I modified an original DEW bronze water pump strap arm for my pattern. I'll go out to the shop tomorrow & take a few photo's of the pattern & post them so you can see what I done. |

I use JB weld stick puddy to fill in all the holes & add material in some places where I wanted more bronze stock for machining purposes. The bottom end of the large bore is glued to top with cyanoacrylate (Super Glue). I machined the two aluminum rings with flanges on my Monarch lathe & those two rings are also just glued and allow for more stock on the large ID bore & also on the two faces. |

I apologize for I see my response wasn't clear. Your follow up comments on the 16th explained what you did and what I was asking. Thanks again. |
